Microscopes, Cameras, Scanners and more…
A Comprehensive Line of Hardware, Software and Expertise for Pathologists.
Meyer Instruments, Inc.
Meyer Instruments has more microscopes, scanners and other sophisticated instruments than you can imagine. You need to visit his website to see what I mean.
As an old pathologist, these two instruments (systems) should be of immediate interest to working pathologists, in academia, din private practice and in research, are the complimentary RTIS and M8. If I had to reduce the appeal and purpose of each instrument to one word, it would be communication. When you think about how important communication is for the pathologist, you begin to understand the value of each instrument.
Purpose: Limitations are your imagination.
- RTIS is used to show colleagues, anywhere in the world with broad band connection,
- show a case for diagnostic confirmation;
- show to a colleague for diagnostic help
- show cases in a mini-conference style over the internet to referring client physicians
- pathologist with RTIS drives slide as he/she discusses case over phone line.
- HD video viewing 1920 x 1080, 60 fps

Realtime Telepathology Imaging System
The people who you communicate with simply view the live streaming video on their own computer monitors. All they have to do is type in the IP address of the Realtime Telepathology Imaging System™ using the URL address bar of their browser and watch.
All the broadcast operator does is control the microscope. What he sees on the large screen monitor is what is being broadcast. One simply uses a telephone or conference bridge to communicate audio back and forth. What could be simpler?
PreciPoint M8

Microscope and Scanner with Remote Control
- M8 Precipoint actually scans the histology slide into a cached memory
- Call colleague to inform an image is waiting on M8
- Dial into M8 to see slide image on remote monitor
- Usage for diagnosis help, confirmation, or to share
- Person on remote monitor can control image to become the “driver”
- Move image in all directions
- Make image smaller or larger
- Remote colleague can review at his/her own pace
- Image resolution up to 2580 x 1944
PreciPoint’s M8 is a dual purpose microscope and whole slide scanner with live REMOTE CONTROL functionality. All features are accessible via a touch screen computer – making it a truly “hands on” digital microscope. The intuitive software allows for easy navigation through your microscope slides with just the touch of your fingers. Perfect for FROZEN SECTION consults.
With everything automated and digitized, there is no need for oculars and manual focus knobs. Working with a touchscreen computer, a tablet, or a smartphone makes you feel as if you could examine the sample with your own hands, literally! The M8 is the most ERGONOMIC and INTUITIVE microscope-scanner on the market today. Period.
Exceed Your Imagination
I have used both instruments and literally, both exceed your imagination. In addition to the outline of the RTIS, I also use it to record video presentation in a HD format. I have shown images of breast cancer simultaneously to the west and east coasts, as well as a short distance between Houston and San Antonio. There is a video I made of the M8 being used. The M8 was located at Meyer Instruments and I was reviewing a simulated frozen section in my office 40 miles away.
